Death toll in NATO shelling on Pakistani post rises to 25
MOHMAND AGENCY: At least 25 troops were killed and several others wounded when NATO and ISAF planes pounded a security check-post in Mohmand tribal agency near Pak-Afghan border, SAMAA reported on Saturday.
Confirming the strike, ISPR said that NATO and ISAF helicopters launched unprovoked attacks on Salala Checkpost in Baizai town of Mohmand Agency.
According to reports, NATO once again helicopters again intruded into Pakistan and targeted Salala Check-post, some 60 kilometers from Mohmand tribal region near border areas.
As a result of the strike, 25 Pakistani troops, including two senior officers, embraced martyrdom. More than 50 security personnel were stationed at Salala post at the time of attack.
The wounded soldiers were airlifted to Peshawar. While the martyrs are likely to be shifted to military headquarter Ghalanai.
A spokesman for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in Kabul said the coalition there was aware of "an incident" near the border and was gathering more information.
Foreign Office has lodged a strong protest with the United States against the cross-border strike.
Further reports say that Pakistan has blocked NATO supply line following the attack.
Meanwhile, ruling and opposition parties condemned the strike in separate statements.

Baat Se Baat (Imran Khan Exclusive) 25 Nov 2011
IMRAN KHAN'S EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW ON BAAT SE BAAT EXPRESS TV
Dated 25th Nov 2011.
Brief introduction of NRO
ISLAMABAD: Former President General (rted.) Pervez Musharraf authored National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to better ties with political rivals during last days in his era, paving the way for Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to come back home from self-imposed exile in Dubai.
The Ordinance issued on October 5, 2007 was meant to boost reconciliation in national politics, end to the tradition of political vengeance and to make electoral process more transparent.
As many as 8,041 cases were abolished under the Ordinance comprising seven clauses. Among those who took benefit from the Musharraf-engineered law include President Asif Ali Zardari, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, Federal Interior Minister Rehman A. Malik, Federal Minister Ahmed Mukhtar, Babar Ghauri, Farooq Sattar and Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan.
The apex court’s 17-strong bench annulled the Ordinance on December 16, 2009 nearly two years after its issuance. The court also ordered to write letter to the government of Switzerland to re-open Swiss cases.
However, the court’s order was snubbed sometime with the government stance that President of the state is entitled to immunity. And, sometime, the government shied away from court order by saying, ‘Letter has been written to the Swiss government.’
Coming under severe pressure in the case, several government officials including Attorney General, Federal Law Secretary tendered resignations.
On September 30, 2010, the government requested the court to hear NRO Review petition prior to NRO Implementation case.
Witnessing the court orders and public reaction to his introduced law, former president Musharraf confessed ‘It was a mistake.’

How Imran Khan knew about the Memogate scandal: A response to all the allegations
In one of the high rated programs on the most popular private TV channel this Sunday, the anchor person baselessly alleged PTI’s leadership of backhand involvement with the ISI. She questioned, how Khan sb knew about the Memogate scandal on 30th October 2011, whereas the Pakistani media opened the story in mid November. Here is how we knew.
On October 10, 2011, The Financial Times published an article by Mansoor Ijaz: “Time to take on Pakistan’s Jihadist spies”. The article reads, inter alia:
Early on May 9, a week after US Special Forces stormed the hideout of Osama bin Laden and killed him, a senior Pakistani diplomat telephoned me with an urgent request. Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan’s president, needed to communicate a message to White House national security officials that would bypass Pakistan’s military and intelligence channels. The embarrassment of bin Laden being found on Pakistani soil had humiliated Mr Zardari’s weak civilian government to such an extent that the president feared a military takeover was imminent. He needed an American fist on his army chief’s desk to end any misguided notions of a coup – and fast.
The diplomat made clear that the civilian government’s preferred channel to receive Mr Zardari’s message was Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the US joint chiefs of staff. He was a time-tested friend of Pakistan and could convey the necessary message with force not only to President Barack Obama, but also to Gen Kayani.
In a flurry of phone calls and emails over two days a memorandum was crafted that included a critical offer from the Pakistani president to the Obama administration: “The new national security team will eliminate Section S of the ISI charged with maintaining relations to the Taliban, Haqqani network, etc. This will dramatically improve relations with Afghanistan.
The memo was delivered to Admiral Mullen at 14.00 hours on May 10.”

It was evident from the tone of Mansoor Ijaz that the matter was not just urgent, it was also of serious nature and a case of high treason on the ‘diplomat’ who he referred to here. It was hence also crystal clear that only the Ambassador to US, Hussain Haqqani, was the diplomat close enough to President Zardari and with back channel contacts enough to reach Adm. Mike Mullen in America.
Khan sb. is an educated man who does not only go on local media’s heresay and blame games, but looks for proofs in international media as well. His only mistake was telling people the truth about what had already been quoted in international media. Our media skeptics need to have more homework done before they raise allegations on a leader of such high stature.
Rest assured, the public of Pakistan is not to be fooled any more. The zeal and numbers that joined Lahore jalsa were just the beginning of a proof of people’s trust in PTI.

MQM: Mirza Conspiring against Zardari
Evil designs and conspiracies being hatched by former home minister Zulfiqar Mirza are actually aimed against President Asif Zardari and the MQM will not allow them to materialise, a Muttahida delegation told the media at Pir Pagara’s residence.
Party members were at the Kingri House to wish PML-F chief Pir Pagara on his 83rd birthday. The delegation comprised Senator Babar Khan Ghauri, Waseem Aftab and IT Minister Raza Haroon. The MQM leaders had brought gifts for the seasoned politician.
Speaking to the media, the MQM members assured the journalists that the PPP and the MQM intended to continue with their reconciliatory policy. The delegation also vowed to stand by Zardari through thick and thin.

Faryal Talpur-owned Indus Air to replace PIA
KARACHI: There is not a single day without any news about Pakistan International Airline, but not for any good reason rather all about its ailing financial health, poor performance, flights delay, emergency landings and etc. But there are some latest and stunning revelations that the ailing national flag carrier is being pushed to dead-end deliberately just to pave the way for a new private airline reportedly owned by a close relative of the President House’s inhabitant.Though the state-owned airline’s financial health was not good before the incumbent dispensation, but during the tenure of this government it moved from bad to worst despite the repeated and consistent calls from all the quarter for restructuring and overhauling of the airline to restore its past glory.
As the airline is fast nearing toward collapse, there are startling reports that a private airline reportedly owned by a close relative of holder of top constitutional office of the country is being launched, which will replace the national flag carrier.
Reliable sources in the airline industry told The News Tribe that the national flag carrier was being deliberately pushed toward collapse so that the way could be paved for the new airline.
They claimed the new airline, Indus Air, is owned by Faryal Talpur MNA, sister of President Asif Ali Zardari, They further said that the news of PIA planes’ crash landings, technical faults and flights delays were being propagated purposefully on daily basis and despite repeated call no step had been taken for complete overhaul of the airline so that the PIA could be declared bankrupt and unfeasible entity. Despite repeated attempts the News Tribe cold not reached out to Faryal Talpur for her version about the issue.
The Indus Air reportedly owned by Mrs Faryal Talpur is a company registered in Bahamas and will become operative very soon, they sources confided to The News Tribe.
The sources said that the airline will be run by former Managing Director PIA Ijaz Haroon, who was removed as MD PIA after prolong strike and protest by PIA employees and pilots.
The website of the Indus Air says that the airline will be launched soon. According to the site, which displays the routes of the airline through map, the airline will run its flights to almost all domestic stations in Pakistan to which the PIA currently operates flights. The airline will operative flight on almost all domestic routes, besides major international routes.
Interesting, the domestic routes of the airline include those on which no private airline currently runs flight and as per PIA management, these routes are financially unviable such as flight from Peshawar to Chitral and Rawalpindi to Gilgit and Skardu.
According to an earlier news report carried out by The News Tribe, Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Managing Director Nadeem Yousufzai had said that the management of the airline was trying to overcome $130 million losses currently the airline was faced with.
